The Adopt-a-Family board is again relying on the generosity of community members and businesses to brighten the holidays for Greene County families in need.
The Adopt-a-Family board will provide a holiday food program to Greene County families this holiday season, In 2019, more than 155 families received food baskets. This year has been and continues to challenge families. Adopt-a-Family remains committed to making sure food needs are being met. The food baskets contain staples, meat, and a few treats.
The board is considering different distribution options due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Social distancing will be maintained for the safety of recipients and volunteers.
“In the past, AAF has been generously supported through donations. We are very thankful for the support. Our biggest need is funds so we can serve as many families as possible,” a spokesperson said.
Monetary donations can be sent to: Adopt-a-Family, PO Box 364, Jefferson, IA 50129. Donations can also be taken to Greene County Peoples Bank locations.
“Adopt-a-Family greatly appreciates the generosity the community has provided in the past and looks forward to working together again this year to meet the essential needs for our friends and neighbors,” the spokesperson said.
